The Nortel IP 2001 Telephone is an entry level, single-line desktop IP telephone within the Nortel IP Phone 2000 Series portfolio and is designed specifically for public areas such as lobbies, cafeterias, hallways, and break rooms. It is also ideal for low call traffic locations such as school classrooms and hotel rooms.

Standard features include: 802.3af Power over Ethernet, a 3x24 character display, on-hook dialing, listen mode speakerphone, Message Waiting Indication, fixed keys, navigation and soft keys.

• Basic and advanced telephony features, such as forward, transfer, audio control centre, and distinctive ring tones, improve interpersonal communications.
• Context-sensitive soft key arrangement, for controlling display-based features, for improved productivity.
• Reduced enterprise installation costs by only requiring a single Category 5 cable drop to the desktop for telephone and co-located PC.
• Full-duplex hands-free is crystal clear by incorporating a narrowband speaker in combination with acoustic echo cancellation.
